Three other monkeys headed up the trail just before I did, college students, two he’s and a she. I passed them at the first creek crossing and beat them to the hot springs by a good half hour, not bad for an old fart.
Just as I was getting dressed the she monkey popped up right at my pool from a path above that I didn’t even know was there. I didn’t notice her until she was about ten feet away, that’s not like me, for all I know she had stood up there and watched me for a while, whatever. We bullshitted about things until her sidekicks showed up. They are from the Seattle area, medical students.
On the way back I talked to a group of about twelve monkeys (with kids) from Northern Idaho and gave them directions to the pools. Everyone always wants to know how much farther, it’s 2.4 miles, check your time at the damn parking lot, it takes about an hour to walk that far, mostly uphill. Well, it takes me an hour and ten minutes but I’m an old fart. I could do it in a hour, I just don’t see the point.
I wasn’t expecting snow at the two thousand-foot level and just wore my street shoes, guess I should have worn boots. It started snowing a slushy snow on my hike back to the parking lot and my feet got wet and cold, in fact I got cold all over, but when the going gets tough the tough gets going.

God now I don't feel so bad. I'm in better shape and I haven't worked in two years.

But it does look lovely; we don’t have anything like that here. We also can’t just set up camp anywhere; we have to stay on sites. Your camping trips look wonderful

A local lady that looked at this post said that I'm too skinny, I know, but I never feel hungry.

It wasn't so bad, I just should have taken better boots but it was my turn to be an idiot. The pool was nice and warm and the day was above freezing.
I don't drink as much as it must sound like at times being as I carry on about beer a lot. I only took one can with me.

I miss hot springs. I used to go to them when I lived on the west slope but we don't have that many around here.

Nice video. I have never been in a hot springs, but it seems like it would be quite enjoyable... even though the snow all around makes it seem contradictory.

P.S. I do not think you talk a whole lot about beer (like you suggested in an above comment). Beer is a pleasant beverage.

A hot pool in snow with a beer is cool, you should try it someday. It's even more interesting when chicks that aren't prudes show up and share a pool with you.
